Each hymn was conceived as a four-part chorale to be used as both a warm-up selection and a piece that could be used to develop lyrical performance skills. Both hymns are personal favorites of the arranger, one from the orchestral canon and the other from the sacred hymnal - St. Anthony's Chorale and My Father's World.
