Medallion Hunt is a dark energetic work from the opening frenzy to the thrilling finish! The piece was inspired by an annual citywide contest to “search for the medallion and win the prize”. It inspired images of long-ago pirates searching for treasure along with modern-day medallion hunters. The city only hides one medallion for hundreds of people to find, so the race is on!

Each section of the orchestra plays the frenetic melody contrasted with a contemplative middle section. There are sudden time signature changes that add mystery and interest for both players and audience. The race is on, enjoy your Medallion Hunt!
